Ken Hada Photography: Scenes from the Edge

Ken Hada Photography: Scenes from the Edge. I make pictures to document movement, memory, and emotion—especially within subcultures and everyday beauty. For over a decade, I’ve focused my lens on women’s skateboarding, capturing the energy, grace, and grit of a community often overlooked. I’ve photographed every Exposure Skate event since it began, staying close to the growth of that movement.

Analog photography grounds my process. I work with film, cyanotypes, and image transfers—tactile methods that echo the passage of time and embrace imperfection. I’ve exhibited my work in galleries, skate museums, and outdoor installations, but I find just as much meaning in a darkroom tray or the raw pages of a photo zine.

Photography, to me, is both a witness and a companion. It holds what’s fleeting, and sometimes, lets it go.
